This, of course, is not true.  What you do is save the MacWord file
as an MSWord file (using "File Format" in the "Save As..") and then
transfer the file.  True, the styles do not come over, but you can
recreate them using the "style-by-example" feature.

I wouldn't recomend doing this often, but it does work.
