I am interested in finding a laptop that is small and lightweight enough to put in a briefcase, has a built-in modem, harddisk (>= 10MB), and 3.5inch flopy, is fully IBM PC compatible so I can run the latest DOS-OS/2 sw, has >= 512k RAM (with expansion available) and can be easily hooked up to a Mac via a serial port for uploading and downloading files. It would be nice to get a Mac portable, but since Apple doesn't make one yet (and when they do it will come at premium price) and the 3rd party ones are slow (based on the SE and Plus) and pricey, the IBM route seems like the way to go. If anyone has any recommendations about a particular machine or manufacturer or has a lead on a used machine that would be suitable I'd like to hear from you. Thanks, Steve Leeke leeke@mips.csc.ti.com
