A few people around here are now using FullWrite Professional and have experienced a problem when running under System 6.0.2 : The only way to open an exisiting document file is to enter the Application first and then open the document from the File menu... Double clicking on the file will cause the following message: "The file 'file_name' could not be opened/printed (the application is busy or missing). I have run FullWrite under system 4.2 and all is ok. Also, I am not able to click on the file and print from the finder under 6.0.2... System 4.2 is fine... Has anybody else seen this ??? -- Jim Kaump (415) 823-6412 {att, bellcore, sun, ames, pyramid}pacbell!pbhyg!jfk -- -- -- Jim Kaump (415) 823-6412 {att, bellcore, sun, ames, pyramid}pacbell!pbhyg!jfk --

I'm using FullWrite Professional under System 6.0.2, and I haven't experienced either of your difficulties. I can't open a second document if one is already open, but I don't have any problems opening an existing document. The only printing problems I have had are due to the LaserWriter driver producing the wrong header file for a generic PostScript printer. I've got a fixed header file that I prepend to the document, and everything goes fine. -Nancy Connor FTP Software nancy@ftp.com ...!harvard!ftp!nancy

It might be the ol' bundle bit problem: the FullWrite Thesaurus and Dictionary files were sent out in the first release with their BNDL bits set on (Get Info in ResEdit). This caused no problem in System 5, but in System 6, it confused the Desktop file. All registered users were sent new copies with the bit turned off. Worst case, you have to rebuild your desktop afterwards. For further help, see our BBS: (213) 538-6196. --Cy--
