> What is the current version of ResEdit? I can never keep track of their > version system. As far as I know, that highest version is V1.2B3. The version systems isn't too hard to figure, especially after reading a recent technote. Before the period is the main version number, and after is the revision number. If a letter follows, it's either an 'a', 'b', or 'd', standing for 'alpha', 'beta' and 'development'. After this is the (alpha, beta, development) version. At least, that's how I remember it without re-reading the technote. >____________________________________________________________________________ > >Gregory Shapiro Gregory Shapiro >Worcester Polytechnic Institute Worcester Polytechnic Institute >GSHAPIRO@WPI.BITNET Box 1397 >GSHAPIRO@WPI.WPI.EDU (130.215.24.1) 100 Institute Road >GEnie: THE.CYCLOPS Worcester, Massachusetts 01609 >MacNet: GShapiro United States >_____________________________________________________________________________ Bob Hablutzel Wildwood Software BOB@NUACC.ACNS.NWU.EDU

Dear Gregory - The latest released version of ResEdit is 1.2B3. The next released version will be 1.2. This should be released sometime during the third quarter (fiscal April to May time frame) through APDA. The Apple version numbering scheme, which I find one of the most rational around is the following. Number.Number"D"Number indicates a Development version. These do not go out of Apple. Number.Number"A"Number indicates an Alpha version. These do not go out of Apple, except as part of a seeding. Number.Number"B"Number indicates a Beta version. These sometimes go out of Apple through APDA. The bigger the number going from left to right, the later the version. For more information on version numbering, see the version numbering tech note.
