Has anyone out there written a decent semi automatic system for
archiving files under UNIX. The present manual system using tars and
things seems incredibly clumsy for something as good as UNIX!
At my last place, (not UNIX) we could just say OFFLINE file-name, and it would
do the rest, stacking things up for a twice a day dump/restore. It also had
an enquiry sytem to look through the list of backed up files
We may even be prepared to pay money (Pounds rather than dollars - but
who cares they're almost the same these days)
