[comp.sys.mac] SuperSpool under MultiFinder?

mha@batcomputer.tn.cornell.edu (Mark H. Anbinder) (02/09/89)

I have a SuperMac DataFrame XP60 drive, which came with SuperSpool and
SuperLaserSpool software (versions 4.0 and 1.11 (both df), respectively).
The trouble is, I've been unable to get them to work properly. I'm
running under MultiFinder, and any attempt to launch the spooler
applications gives me a message along the lines of "We advise that you
launch this from the Finder," giving Abort and Continue buttons. Pressing
Continue causes a crash. Trying to set the startup application to one
of these doesn't work either.

How do I get these print spoolers working?

If I need a newer version of these programs, can someone send them to
me? I'd call SuperMac's BBS to see if there are new versions, but it's
a long distance call.

Please respond via e-mail.

Mark,

You've got version 4.0 which is not MultiFinder compatible. Version 5.0 is
available from the comp.binaries.mac archive and if you FTP access, you can
get the update from SIMTEL20.ARPA (at least that's what Werner tells me...grin)

Also, all of the latest and greatest is available from our SuperMac BBS at
(408) 773-4500, the SuperMac RT on GEnie, the SuperMac section on CONNECT
(aka MacNET), and the updates to the DataFrame Utilities only from MACPRO's
DL 7 on CompuServe. And you should always be able to get the updates from any
SuperMac Authorized Dealer.
