[comp.sys.mac] Virtual is Great

Well, I installed Virtual yesterday (in my 2 meg, Quantum pro-80s, mac II)
and had some fun.

I loaded: Pixel Paint (The frog picture that wont load on a 2 meg machine)
	   Word 3.02
	   Giffer (2 full color images)
	   Fullwrite
	   MacEyes
	   Globe
	   Zippy
	   Versaterm 3.2

What a scream. Take their warning seriously though, turn of your disk
cache. I forgot to and got some significant thrashing when switching.

Anyway, when I was done I just hit cmd-opt-shift-powerkey to tell the
Programmer's Key init by Paul Mercer version 1.1b3 (or maybe 1.1b6 i forget)
to shutdown the system. Instead what I got was:

Microsoft word has unexpectedly quit (some number that I have now forgotten)

so I then pulled shutdown from the finder menu and had a wierd sequence:

desktop clears, menu disappears (this is the normal progression so far) then,
menu returns, desktop returns (only the finder, the apps have closed), then
desktop clears, menubar clears, then both reappear.

well that was fun. I tried again, same thing. So, I removed all inits
except Programmers key, powered down from the back, and tried again.

Basically any attempt to use Programmers key causes either immediate pyro-
technics, or delayed ones that hit if I try a finder shutdown (or restart)
Several different kinds of bombs and hangs occured in testing.

I spoke to Virtual Tech support (Scott) who are extremely responsive.

They said to try to get P Key to load before virtual (apparently any init
that runs before virtual get locked down and wont get swapped, this is not
in the docs) But when I do that P Key is completely unresponsive, it might
as well not have loaded.

So, any thoughts? I have modemed Scott a copy as he had never seen Prog's
Key before. He is disecting as I write this.
