Thanks for taking the time to read my posting. I have some 3.5" diskettes that emit a small "squeling" or "whining" sound whenever the disk is being spun around while in the disk drive. The diskettes are Sony DS/DD and they have never caused me any trouble in terms of lost data. But does this squeling sound perhaps indicate that the diskette may fail sometime in the future? Would it be best to err on the safe side and not use these "noisy" diskettes? Please e-mail your comments if you can. I'll post a summary if I get a large enough response.
