[comp.sys.mac] screens saver

I want to buy Pyro, since it is supposed to be very well behaved and it
allows one to have printing and stuff going on in the background. I wanted to
know if it can use two monitors. I have two monitors, of the Apple variety, and
I wanted the fireworks to go between the two. One monitor is virtually atop the
other. Is there a way to hack it once I buy it. I am asking this because I
have tried it via a friend, and I want to buy it. When I tried it, it only used
the main monitor (as defined by menu placement in the Monitors cdev).
I use Moire v2.xx, and it is very nice. It does seem to stop printing in
progress...though this could be my fault.
Thanks.

Pyro will black out both screens, however the fireworks will only display
on one screen (the primary screen).

Moire will not only black out both screens, but the pattern will move and
change colours between both screens.

The problems related to background printing went away in a recent release,
if I recall correctly (forget which rev though). I'm not sure if John
reads this news group anymore, so if you don't get a response directly
from him, send me some e-mail and I'll give you his e-mail address.

Another problem with Pyro! (version 3.3) happens when using Excel. If you
are entering a formula and Pyro! activates, either by moving the mouse to
Pyro!s hot corner or by its timeout, the formula gets erased. This has
happened to me several times and is generally just annoying.

Might we see an Pyro! Updater 3.4, Steve? :-)

Speaking of screen blanker problems, Fade-to-Black and Excel 1.5 users
beware! I was using Excel 1.5 last night and put the cursor in the upper
right corner to tell Fade-to-Black to fade immediately and Excel gave
me a blank dialog box and crashed. Very frustrating. I also believe
that FtB may be causing problems with Dark Castle. Has anyone had any
similar experiences?

I have another problem with Pyro! 3.1: It doesn't seem to catch every
keystroke. When I'm doing something which doesn't require much typing or
mousing, such as paging through a long file with 'more' on a terminal
program, it will often blank out within seconds of when I hit the space bar
to see another page, particularly if I've spent close to 2 minutes (my
blanking time) on the current page.

config: Mac Plus, system 6.0

Excel just isn't prepared to update a forumula-in-progress. Note that in this
state it disables DA items in the Apple menu, beeps when you click anywhere
that doesn't update the formula, etc. It won't let you do anything that would
cover the formula. So I would rephrase the problem statement thus: "Another
problem with Excel happens when using Pyro!."

Probably. But not for this problem.
