I have tried getting Talking Moose (the current version on sumex) running on my II, but it tells me error -199, Macintalk is missing. BUT MACINTALK IS THERE! Anyone have an info on how it works? Zippy also fails. Comes up and then closes. Help! -- .......................................................................... I've had the same problem on my Mac II. I've downloaded MacInTalk from several different sources, some even promising that their version was Mac II compatible. Haven't tried talking to Apple directly, but that's a last resort for me since I can't afford to be an Apple Partner. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, even if the suggestion is to talk to Apple, Inc. When I first tried Talking Moose with a MacII-compatible Macintalk, it wouldn't work. I rebooted a couple of times with and without init-cdev to see if that was the problem. Then, I noticed that the message I got was something like "Macintalk not installed". I looked, and the file I had placed in my system folder was called "MacinTalk". Now, while I wouldn't expect case to be the problem, changing the name to "Macintalk" and rebooting made Talking Moose work. I would expect that the reality of the situation is that I just finally got the right combination of things running, but anything's worth a shot. -- David Elliott ...!pyramid!boulder!stan!dce "Splish splash, I was rakin' in the cash" -- Eno
