[comp.sys.mac] Mac C emulation of Unix system calls

taylor@hplabsz.HP.COM (Dave Taylor) (02/24/89)

I'm interested in collecting a public-domain library of C source
code that people have cobbled together to emulate the more common
Unix system calls on the Macintosh. The target environment is
both Lightspeed C and MPW C (they should run on both, or it should
be obvious why they run on one but not the other please).

Each routine submitted should come with some documentation on
calling sequence, error return values, algorithm, references to
Inside Mac where appropriate, and a sample usage if possible.

Once I begin to get a reasonable collection together, I would
like to every few months post the library source to comp.sources.mac
for the community to partake of...

If you've implemented any Unix system calls in your Mac software,
please send it along!

	Submissions, discussion, etc, to:
		taylor@hplabs.hp.com
	or {ucbvax,uunet,decwrl,apple} !hplabs!taylor

Thank you...I look forward to a substantial library of code!
