I am administrating a ethernetwork of 12 mac SE's running Tops which
are used for database, graphic, and word processing. Yesterday
we started to have system crashes when people would try to open
certain Word documents (no pattern I can figure out as yet).
The documents are used by many people so I can't easily find out
who last modified the documents.
The system gives ID 3's or 10's when trying to open the documents, which
I believe are trap errors. Examing the documents with FEDIT there dosen't
seem to be any obvious corruption, and using resedit all attributes are
set correctly and there are no resource forks attached to the documents.
No other program seems to be having this problem opening documents so
I have replaced all the copies of word on our network, this does not
seem to have solved the problem.
HELP! I'm stumped at this point. We have 100's of documents on the network
so this is a real problem. I've used Interferon to check things and
it dosen't seem to see anything.
