I have a Mac+ with rev A ROMS. I am tired of unplugging my hard drives
whenever I want to run as a floppy system {checking new software for virus
infections, playing about with resedit & system software, etc}.
I understand that Apple has a free ROM upgrade for those of us with rev A
ROMS, but that it is a little known upgrade.
Could some kind soul provide me with the upgrade part number so I can
minimize any hassles. Also, I assume that the upgrade is to the latest
128K ROM rev {D?}.

TeriAnn, You should be able to get the latest ROMs for free from any Apple dealer. I recently had mine upgraded. Many dealers did not have the ROMs in stock, but they are orderable, taking about a week. All you need to do is contact your favorite Apple dealer to make arrangements to have yours done. Make sure they are aware that this is no charge to the customer (some think it costs about $100, plus labor, but I think this may be what Appler reimburses them). The only requirement is that the Mac Plus be working. Michael H. Naber

Your delaer should look for Product Notice OKJ767 on
page 8.4.8. This page tells how the dealer gets
reimbursement for the parts (not labor).
