[comp.sys.mac] 256K SIMMS to build 1M SIMMS

markham@tsc.cs.unc.edu (Andrew Markham) (02/28/89)

Here at the university, we do a lot of memory upgrade purchasing and are
curious about the possibility of using the old 256K SIMMS (primarily out of
MacIIs) to construct 1M SIMMS. I know of one place, Computer Care Inc.,
which makes the kit for this type of module, but haven't heard any news
(good/bad) as to whether these are a good idea.

If you have any information on the SoftStep III kit by Computer Care, or
if you know of another company which makes the same type of kit at a
competitive price (~$60), please send me as much information as possible.

Thanks to any and all help that is provided,

Andy Markham

Please post anything about this; enquiring minds want to know!
