Here at the university, we do a lot of memory upgrade purchasing and are curious about the possibility of using the old 256K SIMMS (primarily out of MacIIs) to construct 1M SIMMS. I know of one place, Computer Care Inc., which makes the kit for this type of module, but haven't heard any news (good/bad) as to whether these are a good idea. If you have any information on the SoftStep III kit by Computer Care, or if you know of another company which makes the same type of kit at a competitive price (~$60), please send me as much information as possible.
