NOTE: This is being posted to both comp.sys.mac and comp.sys.apple due to it's dual nature Some weeks ago I requested information on converting Apple // HiRes graphics to Mac MacPaint files. I was trying to do it via GIF conversion, but I only got GIF -=> Mac. Anyway, I accidentally ran accross a free Mac program that does the direct conversion. You send the HiRes file to the Mac over a null modem using binary Xmodem, and then just run the application. The program displays the HiRes pic on the Mac, but this early version cannot save it directly. You have to save the MacPaint file using Command-Shift-3. I think the program is only B&W, but it is hard to tell on my SE. If anyone wants the program, mail a short request to me. If I get over 30 or 40 requests, I may try to figure out how to send it to comp.binaries.mac. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know. Oh, I forgot. There is a second application for Mac to HiRes that I have not tried. In this case, you would convert on Mac and then modem it to Apple //. ____________________________________________________________________________ * John Babcock att!occrsh!jdsb * AT&T Network Systems jdsb@occrsh.att.com * Oklahoma City, OK Disclaimer: I speak on my own, not as AT&T.
