Apparently, Apple has just announced a rework program for us LQ owners (of old). This plan will offer a trade-in type arrangement, where you give them yours, and they give you a refurbished (via your dealer). Two questions: Anyone have an official Apple document pertaining to this he would like to share? Since I got mine through school, are they still my "dealer", or is the dealer I would use the one who does my AppleCare. Note that this is brand new, one of those things that dealers hem & haw about, and since I've not had to really deal with one except to get AppleCare, and to try to find out if I could get a freebie motherboard swap (I have the first run of Mac II nubus roms -- answer was no), how does one go about "persuading" the dealer that you (sort of) know what you are talking about. If anyone is interested, I could dig up the serial # info, too. I guess I forgot to mention that the fixes are for noise & for the line feed problems that results in squishy-looking text.
