Opened up the back of my new Mac SEx (a.k.a. Mac SE/30) to install some 256K, 120ns chips and upgrade my machine to 5 Megs. And what to my wondering eyes should appear but... 4 100ns 1Meg SIMMs! This is a surprise -- I thought the Mac II, Mac IIx and Mac SE/30 only needed 120ns SIMMs. Is Apple getting a good deal on faster, 100ns chips, or is there a reason for this? Future software? (No problem -- just wanted to make sure my 120ns SIMMs weren't going to be causing problems. I mean, I can sacrifice and go back to 4 Megs... :-) ). BTW, having opened up my Mac Plus multiple times, I'd just like to compliment Apple on how easy it is to get the Mac SEx board in and out of the machine. Makes the Plus look like Alcatraz (which it wasn't). "For the last 14 years, Mr. Ed has lived in a small town in northern California, where he hosts a local radio show." I'm Mr. Ed; talk to me." --- Moriarty, aka Jeff Meyer INTERNET: moriarty@tc.fluke.COM Manual UUCP: {uw-beaver, sun, hplsla, thebes, microsoft}!fluke!moriarty CREDO: You gotta be Cruel to be Kind... <*> DISCLAIMER: Do what you want with me, but leave my employers alone! <*>
