The question I have arised in the context of 4D, but I think this
could be the same for Hypercard also. What I need to do is to write to
a file from external command/functions. The reason for this is that
the file-operations I got in 4D's language are too poor. The way I
would like to have it are (mainly) three externals:
1) open file
2) write some output
3) close file
The problem is that I can't use global vars in externals. So how can I
reference the file in the other externals. Or is it possible to just
open the file using 4D and access it in some way inside the externals?
