I have a modest GIF archive open to FTP here at Clemson University (hubcap.clemson.edu - pub/gif - 2 to 256 colors - approx. 8Mb). I have tried to maintain the archive to the best of my ability (I hope everyone has enjoyed it). What I need now is more GIFs and your suggestions (sorry I cant post "questionable" GIF files in this archive but I dont mind if you send ME some). The GIFs in this archive are in BINARY format so that all machines (wuth GIF viewers can read them). To get a file, FTP to hubcap, then type binary (or maybe tenex but I dont think you will have to use tenex). Use the get command to put the file on your machine. I use Kermit to transfer my GIF files to the archive. So if you use Kermit, be sure to "set file type binary" on both sides before you tranfer the file to your PC (set file defaults to binary/data fork for you Mac users). If you have any problems with the GIFs please send me mail and I will replace the file in the archive. I apologize to the people who have sent me mail and got no responce, I have difficulty sending mail to some of you.
