I am just acquiring a Mac and would like advice on editors. On UNIX systems preferences are for emacs and its derivatives; on IBM micros I use BRIEF. Is there anything similar for the mac; i.e., an editor with extensible features, programmable macros, and the like? I'm not interested in a word processor, I want a hacking tool. Opinions appreciated, but please mail them -- editing preferences stir religous controversey... Thanks.
