We're currently using DiskFit 1.41 at Fluke to back up hard drives to 40MB tape drives (and we like it!). Just saw an add for a new version of DiskFit (1.6, if I remember correctly). Can someone tell me what's new in the new version? I don't think we were notified of the upgrade, and I'm holding out for the new archiving system from Dantz, whenever it comes out; I'd like to know if there's anything in the new version of DiskFit worth upgrading for (having the "Extended Report" option work with tapes would be nice -- it doesn't seem to be now). It's definitely faster (I'm seeing about 30%). I don't know what else is in it offhand. I wouldn't wait for the new archiving software, since it and DiskFit look at things from somewhat different angles. While the new stuff could do what Diskfit does, I'll definitely want to keep Diskfit around as well.

You might check some of the collections and see if my message is still available to you, as it gave all of the necessary information that you're looking for... ...or E-Mail me.
