abeg@teksce.SCE.TEK.COM (Abe Ghahyasi) (02/22/89)

The poor thing pops up with a sad face icon and an error code 040800.
Does any body out there have a list of error code for Mac.
Any idea what's going on. By the way this is an older mac with 128K
memory.

thanks in advance,

As copied from the hardware error list that was posted a while back on
comp.sys.mac...

04 nnnn Memory test (Mod3 test) failed

wich is a Mem test (Mod 3 test) error and it appears thet "0800" tells
the bad chips, but which on ? I have no idea !
Does any body out there have any idea, or is there any way to boot the
system without going through the inital diag/memory test. By the way this
is an older mac with 128k memory.

Many thanks in advance,
