Greetings, Mac-ers! I realize that I'm a fish out of water using a IBM clone, anyway, here goes: I have a scanner that writes in TIFF format native, and can convert to PCX format. What I am looking for is the format to the TIFF format, or if that fails, the format to PCX files. I assume the format of the bytes would be the same on either Mac or IBM, this must be true since one can transfer these files back and forth... Thanks, Terry Lee uunet!janus!merlin!terry

There is a TIFF standard, whose overseer is Aldus. You can get the docs from the Aldus forum on CompuServe. BUT the format for IBM/Mac is different. The TIFF file has a flag that says whether the byte order is II (Intel, evil, evil :-)) or MM (Motorola). Some programs can handle both, some cannot. Wayne Folta (folta@tove.umd.edu 128.8.128.42)
