I saw an article in Computer World from the last two months or so that says that anyone who bought an LQ from Aug to Dec of last year can get it replaced *for free* with Apple's replacement version. I cut it out for a friend at work, who hadn't been contacted by anyone. Is the story true? Is the story well-known? Is the story old news? Wayne Folta (folta@tove.umd.edu 128.8.128.42)

The story is true, and it's been posted here at least once
before.
Your serial number has to be less than 183101013.
Reportedly, the new LQ is quieter and correctly
prints at the top of the page. You get a new one with a new
warranty. I was told a week ago that the program should be
starting this week, but I haven't heard anything yet from
our service group who is responsible to do the substitution.
