[comp.sys.mac] Olympia Printer for Mac.

mazyar@janus.berkeley.edu (Mazyar Lotfalian) (03/29/89)

I have bought a NP 30 Olympia printer for my Mac+, but it seems that I can't
put it to work.
If anybody knows that there is a special way of installing it , please let me
know- meanwhile I am printless.

Thanks.....Mazyar. mazyar@janus.berkeley.edu

If the Olympia has a DB25 serial port, I'm 99.99% positive that
you've got the wrong cable. I'll bet you've got a MODEM cable
instead of a PRINTER cable. Make sure you get an Imagewriter I
printer cable. Most mini-DIN8 to DB25 cables you find in the
stores today are actually modem cables, which won't work with a
printer. If you can't find one in a store, check the Inmac
catalog or try adding a null modem between the male and female DB25
connectors.

The Olympia is supposed to be Apple Imagewriter compatible, so you
should be able to plug it in and go. I assume you've installed
the driver properly using Chooser.
