My boss got a used Mac 512K enhanced in his office (a leftover from a professional society he works for that upgraded to an SE30). He would like to use Wordperfect like I do on my Mac SEHD20. Our institution uses mainly Wordperfect (mostly MS-DOS a few Macs) so this makes for compatability with our editors and such. The problem is that the 512Ke cannot use system 6.02, and Wordperfect does not seem to run on anything below system 6.0. Or does it? I have not had time to call Wordperfect to find out. He can get a liscensed copy without manual for $30 from the University and would if there were a way to run it. One funnything I found was that with the use of the floppy system only I could at least get system 6.02 up and running with no bombs. But as soon as I install it on the paradise 10 MEG drive he has the system bombs when it tries to boot with it. I know, 5.5 is as high as the 512Ke is supposed to go, but I never believe something without trying it first and it was funny that it would run off the floppy but not the paradise hard drive. Has anyone else been able to get 6.02 to run sucessfully on a 512Ke?? Or am I wasting my time? If so is my problem something to do with these weird third party Paradise 10 MEG drives??????? Also if anyone knows of a way to get Wordperfect to run with system 5.5 could you please let me know how you did it. Or if not let me know that what I want to do is impossible???? Any info would be appreciated much!!!
