I am interested in setting up a microcomputer to use as a mail feed and for selected Usenet groups. I know that there is software that allows this, uupc, I think, but I have no idea how one gets it, sets it up, and runs it. I can use a PC-clone, a Mac, or an ST, so the machine isn't important, although a Mac would probably be easiest. Could someone tell me if this is indeed possible and if so, what hardware and software is necessary? Also, what's necessary in the way of phone lines for communication and are they exorbitantly expensive? Please email everything since I can't always read each group. I'll post as summary (as usual) if I get enough responses to warrant on. If I'm asking in the wrong place, please tell me which newsgroup would be more appropriate. Thanks a lot!
