[comp.sys.mac] Query: how to salvage data lists in old Apple II program?

prince@maui.cs.ucla.edu (04/05/89)

The church I belong to recently bought a Mac. They have been running
a mailing list/filer package called FCM on an Apple ][ (you remember
those). For those unfamiliar with FCM (actually, that includes me),
it stands for "Filer-Cataloger-Mailer", and is sort of an integrated
flat database and mailing list package (I think). All data is stored
in it's own internal file structure...there are no built in utilities
to save data in exportable formats.

My question is twofold:

1) What programs on the Mac will do mailing, sorting, and simple
database management with maximum ease and minimum cost? Sophistication
and "power" (bells, whistles and features) are not that important
    (speed is a plus).

2) What utilities exist that will enable them to salvage their data
for use on the Mac, without having to retype everything in?

Any information would be gratefully appreciated.
