Hello people. I was looking around one of the FTP sites on that list that was posted last week, and I encountered a number of files with the suffix .sit_bin. Now those are obviously StiffIt files, but from the _bin on the end, I assume they've been put through something else for the purpose of uploading (something on the order of binhex's .hqx perhaps?) Anyway, I ftp'd them over, and downloaded them from the mainframe w/MacKermit. Now I hit a problem. I couldn't figure out what to do to decode the files. They weren't traditional .hqx binhex files, as the "decode binhex" option of stuffit failed (it wasn't even in the normal binhex form anyway). I tried putting it through binhex 5.0, and it was able to make a StuffIt file out of it. However, every attempt to extract the files from the archive results in CRC errors w/corrupted files, or with the screen filling up with vertical lines and promptly resetting. Any advice on how I can get at these files? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\******/=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Gabe Wiener -- Columbia University \****/ "It doesn't matter how sincere it \**/ is, nor how heart-felt the spirit.
