[comp.sys.mac] NCSA Image Released

	NCSA Image v 2.0 for the Mac (formally called ImageTool) has been 
released and is available for downloading through NCSA's anonymous ftp server.
If you have arpanet access, you can get the most recent released versions
of NCSA software via anonymous ftp to zaphod.ncsa.uiuc.edu.
What follows is a brief description of NCSA Image's capabilities. 
	NCSA Image is a free program written by the Software Development Group
at NCSA which gives the scientist (or any other user) the ability to manipulate
and extract information from an image.  Some of its features include: 

(1) Use color, contour plots, 3D plots, shaded plots, XY Graphs, and 
ordered dither plots to visualize sets of data points.

(2) Select imaging and analysis tools, or mouse action modes, from a
tool chest.

(3) Cut to the Clipboard and paste into other application documents both
color and black-and-white plots.

(4) Print contour plots, shaded data plots, XY graphs, and ordered dither plots.

(5) Modify and save color palettes.

(6) Display floating point numbers from interpolated image.

(7) Animate multiple raster images.

NOTE:If you do not have access to any ftp facilities then you can order NCSA 
software through the Technical Resources Catalog printed by NCSA.  In order 
to obtain a copy either send mail to softdev@ncsa.uiuc.edu describing your 
request, or send a letter via U.S. mail to the address appearing below.
