Recently, people were discussing how a 29000 RISC processor might be included in future Macintosh motherboards as a Quickdraw accelerator. One of the main uses of a graphics accelerator is to blast bits around quickly. Would a 29000 on the motherboard really help to blast bits that are located on a NuBus video card? I always assumed that companies would opt for something like a TI-34010 on the video card itself (some may already do this). Are there any other good uses for a motherboard-based 29000 in accelerating Quickdraw? Thanks, Mark Hastings hastings@ernie.berkeley.edu ..!ucbvax!ernie!hastings
