[comp.sys.mac] anonomous ftp sites for MAC software

gerwitz@eastman.UUCP (Paul Gerwitz) (03/31/89)

I am looking for locations of anon FTP sites for Mac software. I am
already aware of sumex-aim.stanford.edu. Any others ??

Please send me e-mail, DO NOT POST replies as I do not regularly read
this newsgroup.

Perhaps if someone who has a list of Mac FTP sites could post the list here
on the net, it would help. Anyone interested in this list besides myself and
Paul?

I should say now that scam does not have a Macintosh archive, and it may never
given the chilly response I got when I put the Leprechaun Demo there once.
However, if you are looking for cool stuff for Unix (GNU, X11, xtrek...)
it usually has something to offer.

Actually the real IP number for umn-cs is 128.101.224.1. The folks at
joey.cs.buffalo.edu might be surprised to know that they are now umn-cs in
Minnesota.

The mac archive is now in ~ftp/pub/mac/ in several directories based on the
type of material.

Here is a list that I found and have added on to as I have found more sites.
Some sites may not work though so fool around with it and see what happens. I'm
pretty sure that most of the major MAC sites are there so ENJOY!
