Just wondering. GreenSpring computers advertise in April MacTutor a 68020-NuBus-board witch is claimed to compatible with MPW and Apples new MR-DOS operating system. Sounds fine, but where have I been, when everyone has been talking about MR-DOS ( and it IS with R ). And doing real time multitasking with MR-DOS. Jouni Rynv, Finnish Meterological Institute. MR-DOS (which stands for Minimal Real-time Distributed Operating System) is the operating system that is a part of the Macintosh Coprocessor Platform. The entire MCP, including hardware design and MR-DOS can be licensed by any developer from Apple. For more information, write to Susan Grabau, Apple Computer MS 27-C, 10500 N. DeAnza Blvd., Cupertino, CA 95014. MR-DOS was first presented to developers at the developers conference in San Jose, CA in April, 1988. In the case of GreenSpring, I believe that they are using MR-DOS on their own hardware, rather than on Apple's MCP (the GreenSpring card is based on a 68020 and the Apple MCP is based on a 10 MHz 68000). PS. A certain company has complained about the name MR-DOS, so a new name for this system is coming. ======== Mark Rustad, Apple Computer, 10500 N.
