About 1.5 years ago I got a deal on a close-out of the high profile Apple 2.5Mb memory upgrade boards. The computer store where I bought it and had it installed told me that it WOULD block the expansion slot in my SE. I didn't care at the time, but in the next few years, I know that there will be better and faster upgrade boards (e.g., SE/30 upgrade), and I assume my current high profile board will prevent me from using them. Therefore, I was considering not only moving to low profile SIMMs, but also upgrading from 2.5Mb to 4Mb while I was at it. - Is this a wise choice? - How can I save money and make the switch to low profile SIMMs? - Can I still do an SE/30 motherboard upgrade with the high profile 2.5Mb board I currently have? - Is moving to 4Mb worth it (I am getting into using Multifinder more and more, and I find I can't run HyperCard, WriteNow 2.0 AND SuperPaint 2.0 at the same time with 2.5 Mb)? - Should I just leave well enough alone? - If I do make the switch and upgrade to 4Mb, who sells the best and LEAST EXPENSIVE SIMMs? - What speed SIMMs are the best decision for my Mac's present and possible future growth needs? - Will some SIMMs NOT run on my SE? Any places, or brands of SIMMs, that I should AVOID? I would appreciate any answers you can provide to any of these questions. Thanks very much. Jim Collymore
