A few days ago there was mention on this newsgroup that Apple has announced new Higher Education Prices effective 4/1/89. Somebody said that at their school, the price of a MacPlus had dropped to $999. Can anybody enlighten me as to when this change *really* goes into effect? Our University Computer Sales has had a price of $1140 on the Plusses for quite a while, and they haven't changed it yet. When I asked them about the new prices, the person first feigned ignorance, and then later admitted to being aware of the change, but wouldn't say when they would come into effect. He mumbled something about clearing their existing stocks first, which is curious since they have to order one for you! Am I just stuck with a bunch of morons, or is this actually legitimate?
