I'd like to thank all of the (many many) people that responded to my query about AppleShare using an SE/30 as a server. I canceled the message the same day since I got so many replies from close sites, but apparently it was too late! :-) Anyway, the problem is that I followed instructions. :-) AppleShare, for some reason, apparently comes with System Software 6.0. When we installed AppleShare on our SE/30, we installed the System as well, which apparently we shouldn't have, since 6.03 was designed specifically to let a 68030 processor run it. So the solution was to re-install System 6.03. We've done this, and now everything works fine again. :-) I still wonder, however: Why was there a System install script on an AppleShare disk? Shouldn't any Mac user have their own System Software disks to install from anyway (especially System Software 6.0x)? Once again, thanks for all the help! (And I hope this summary is enough for those of you who asked for one... Let me know if you want more info!) -/ Dave Caplinger /------------------+----------------------------------- Microcomputer Specialist | Internet: unocc07@zeus.unl.edu "Computing and Data Communications" | UUCP: uunet!btni!unocss!dent University of Nebraska at Omaha | Bitnet: UNOCC07@UNOMA1 Omaha, NE 68182 | or dc3a+@andrew.cmu.edu
