In my office we have a Jasmine megafloppy drive. Just recently a couple of the disks have gone bad and we need to replace them. Now that Jasmine seems to have died, does anyone out there know of a source for more of the megafloppy cartridges? Thanks, Mark abbott@dean.berkeley.edu {decwrl, sun, hplabs}!ucbvax!dean!abbott

Well, you can call Jasmine at 415-282-1111 and order some. This is the first I've heard that "Jasmine seems to have died," so I just called them on the phone and confirmed that they are still selling the MegaDrive and cartridges for it. Sorry, I didn't ask for current prices. If you don't want to buy the cartridges from Jasmine, note that the mechanism for the MegaDrive is made by Data Technologies Corporation (DTC). You can probably use cartridges sold by anybody who OEMs the same mechanism or the substantially similar Kodak drive. (Additional grist for the rumor mill: The first person I asked to speak with "will be back in a couple of days." He's been out of the office nearly two months now! The second person I asked for "no longer works here." And MacWEEK has a nearly weekly update on Jasmine's various lawsuits...) In any case, it's _Rodime_ that is in trouble, not Jasmine. I think reports of Jasmine's death are greatly exagerated. :-> Robert ------ ra_robert@gsbacd.uchicago.edu ------ generic disclaimer: all my opinions are mine

Where do you get your info from? The megafloppies can be exchanged by sending them back to Jasmine with an RMA number (call Jasmine Tech support) for just your cost of sending the megafloppies back. I got my replacement megafloppy back in 5 days. Additional megafloppies can also be ordered from Jasmine. Disclaimer: Just another satisfied customer. Colin Ong Dept. I've gotten a hold of them and worked out the problem. Thanks for the help. Rumours can be a nasty thing, and having the old ph# be disconnected didn't help all that much either.
