[comp.sys.mac] Problem w/Moire

slim@tut.cis.ohio-state.edu (Scott Whitman) (05/03/89)

Hi, I don't normally read this newsgroup so I hope this posting is
appropriate. I attempted to install the screen saver Moire and it
seemed to work fine, until I re-booted the system. It then beeped
when moire icon came up at boot-up, and when I tried to use the
control panel to set the moire parameters it gave me a message that
the control panel couldn't find a resource and it asked me to
quit(more like told me) the c-panel setup for this.

I am running system 6.02 and the problem occured both with and without
the use of multifinder. I have a Mac-SE with the Apple 20 meg drive.
Any responses to this should be sent via e-mail to my address given
below.

			Advthanksance,

First of all, what version of Moire are you trying to use? The current version
I know of is 2.22. Secondly, Moire is very sensitive to the order of INIT
execution: I have it loading before everything but Vaccine on my system, and
don't have any problems.

I am having problems with it interfering with PageMaker (both 2.x and 3.x).
If PageMaker is printing and Moire kicks in, PageMaker spits out blank pages
for the rest of the document. Not good when you're sending the document to
your Linotronic. It's a shame, too, because I would really like to use it on
the service bureau machines at work. I've tried to reach John Lim via E-mail,
but can't get any system to recognize munmurra.oz. If someone who has a
reliable mail-path to him could forward this to him, I'd appreciate it...
