[net.wanted] Xenix system 4 sale

mikey@trsvax.UUCP (12/21/84)

Seeing as how I had a tremendous flood of calls, I'll try posting
this again. Maybe this time it will get somewhere.

I've got the following equipment for sale in the Dallas/Ft. Worth
area. Prices are List/Last selling prices.

	R/S Model II computer 3899 / <2000
	R/S Model II Bay 2350 / 1499
	68000 - 128K 1499 / 899
	128K upgrade 499 / 159

				Asking $3000.00

The system is an early Model II but has all the upgrades to make it
current. It has the heavy duty power supply, and all 4 drives are
Shugart SA800.

Also included in the package are 2 blank proto-typing cards for the
Model II, the Xenix package and manuals (I never even sent in the
original owners registration card), and Model II TRSDOS manuals and
Technical Reference Manual. The system has a hard drive connector
cable and plate installed so the interface card from Radio Shack
can just plug in for up to 4 hard drives (140 megabytes).

Internally, there is room for another 256k of 68000 ram, and the
hard drive interface. Then the card cage will be full.

As retail prices from even 1 year ago are not a current measure, I'm
asking $3000 and you take care of the shipping and/or pickup.

For those not famaliar with the Model II, it is a Z80A based
system with DMA. It runs 4 mhz with 1 wait state and uses mode 2
interupts for everything, including keyboard. The 68000 is
running at 6 mhz. The system has two RS-232 ports for terminals or
communications and one Centronics parallel port for a printer. Disk,
printer, video, and keyboard take no port connections, as they are
all internal. The 68000 effectively makes the Model II a Model 16,
except it doesn't have double sided floppy disk.

All I use the system for is a terminal, which is quite an overkill,
and a little word processing. I really should add a hard disk to get
the Xenix running, but another $3000 for a big HD would not go well
at home. I want to invest in a different type of system (Tandy 2000)
so I'm going to sell it.

Not in the system are a Radio Shack LP VI, very used but works fine for
$350 (new was $1199), and a DC1200 modem with dialer module for $450
(new was $699 for the modem and $149 for the dialer). The modem is the
Radio Shack version of the Datec 212.

All prices may be negotiable, depending on my needs and wants at the time.
