I agree that copy-protection should be done away with. For the most part, it has. You have the legal right to make a backup of your software and copy-protection hinders that. Copy-protection does not prevent copying. Many incopatibilities are caused by copy-protection, Moebius is one; many programs were incompatible with the MacII when it first came out because of the copy-protection. I keep copy-protected programs on a floppy, which then becomes quite slow. Nothing copy-protected ever goes on my hard disk, mostly since Disk Express could choke and die, and I would get mad. Just say "no" to copy-protection (and drugs and cold fusion). -Howard hf07+@andrew.cmu.edu ps. CMU is stressful as it is, but now were days away from the beginning of finals which means taking the pre-finals/last-week-of-class exams and then studying for finals. Everyone's really stressed out and just looking to unload on everyone else.
