[comp.sys.mac] Copy-Protection

I agree that copy-protection should be done away with. For the most part, it
has. You have the legal right to make a backup of your software and
copy-protection hinders that. Copy-protection does not prevent copying.
Many incopatibilities are caused by copy-protection, Moebius is one; many
programs were incompatible with the MacII when it first came out because of the
copy-protection. I keep copy-protected programs on a floppy, which then
becomes quite slow. Nothing copy-protected ever goes on my hard disk, mostly
since Disk Express could choke and die, and I would get mad.

Just say "no" to copy-protection (and drugs and cold fusion).

ps. It was really fun to flame Andy after he flamed Bill wasn't it? :-)
Seriously though, take it easy on the guy. CMU is stressful as it is, but
now were days away from the beginning of finals which means taking the
pre-finals/last-week-of-class exams and then studying for finals. Everyone's
really stressed out and just looking to unload on everyone else.
