Where do people out there get reasonably priced ethernet cards for the Mac SE (and SE/30). We have been looking for over a year, and haven't had much luck. At present, we are waiting for an ethernet card from Information Presentation Technologies called the IPT-1000. This card is costing us $471 Cdn, which is pretty good but we've been waiting for it since August. It did arrive in January but its performance was so bad we sent it back for repair. IPT claimed it was a bad DMA chip or bad grounding, but I'm not holding out much hope. I've been checking for pricing on the Etherport SE from Kenetics, but the best price I've gotten for that is $1495 Cdn less 20% educational discount. No ethernet card is worth $1495! 3Com promised us one for $571 Cdn, but after waiting 6 months we cancelled it hoping that the IPT-1000 card would be here Real Soon Now. Now 3Comm won't deal with us directly, and their dealers keep quoting us $1495 Cdn. Is there any cheap, good ethernet cards out there available now? We're desperate! -- Paul H.
