I am familiar with Symantec Utilities and HFS 1st aid as excellent recovery programs on the mac but when they fail, where do you turn to. Are there any books that deal specifically with recovering Macintosh files and give a list of methods and utilities. I have used Fedit and other utilities to perform recoveries but I have learned these techniques through word of mouth and would like to know of any comprehensive guides to recovering all types of mac files and not just text files.
