According to today's New York Times, a Chippewa Falls, Wis. paper (where Cray, Inc. has a development and manufacturing facility) has reported that talks are under way for Apple to purchase Cray. Cray denies this. Of note, though, is that Cray indeed may be reorganized or sold to someone, according to the Times article. Yep, this is THE Cray, the one that makes supercomputers. Just a rumor, but stranger things have happened. Robert ------ ra_robert@gsbacd.uchicago.edu ------ generic disclaimer: all my opinions are mine ------ MOFO knows!

Strangely enough this morning's paper (SF Chron) talks about how Cray is splitting into 2 companies (who will compete) ..... maybe Apple is buying half of Cray .....
