[comp.sys.mac] Mac SE vs. 80386

dorourke@polyslo.CalPoly.EDU (David M. O'Rourke) (05/17/89)

I was bored one night and decided to look through the SE/30 stack that
Apple gave dealers. Tells you everything you ever wanted to know about how
a marketing department see's the SE/30. Too bad the marketing dept. did this
and not the people who know the SE/30

Well anyway's they have this section that compares IBM's Compacts and the
Macintosh SE & IIx to the SE/30. Well I never knew this, but according to
the SE/30 stack the Macintosh SE has:

  a 10 mhz 80386 !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gosh and I thought Apple didn't use intel processor's in their product line.
No wonder system 6.0 and the SE broke so many applications. So the 80386
has a standard graphics enviroment, hmm guess I'll trade in my expensive
SE in on a cheap 80386 clone, now that I can run Macintosh software on it.

Oh well, life in the fast lane.

Thankyou Apple, I was kinda depressed before reading your stack. But after
reading the stack I got the best laugh of my life and I feel much better
now. :-) :-)
