I posted a few days ago a request for information about "Hyperscan". I got a couple of responses, for which I am grateful, and I thought I would tell you all what the responses were. Hyperscan is a Hypercard stack, written by Bill Atkinson, which will drive the AppleScanner (and in fact is included with it now - though not on the last release in the UK, though perhaps it is by now), and is not public domain. I was told that if I wished to use it I could license it from Apple Licensing. The very useful feature about the driver is that it will create a hypercard card with your scanned picture on it (or so someone else told me). Yet again, mucho gracias for the info - some of it from someone at Apple! (I don't know why that should be a surprise to me- though I guess it stems from a time about 2 years ago when I asked the Tech people at Apple UK about the "pritner access protocol" stuff and they said they'd never heard of it :-) ) Phil Jimmieson, *************************************************** Computer Science Dept., * ** Note New Address & UserName ** * Liverpool University, * JANET : PHIL@UK.AC.LIV.CS.MVA * Merseyside, England, * ARPA : PHIL%mva.cs.liv.ac.uk@cunyvm.cuny.edu * L69 3BX * * * old address SQPHIL@UK.AC.LIV.CSVAX may work * (UK) 051-794-3689 ***************************************************
