Greetings, SuperMac has released an update to Manager 4.0. This update, Manager 4.0.1, can be downloaded from the SuperMac BBS (408-773-4500), APVENB DL 16 on CompuServe, SuperMac RT on GEnie, and the SuperMac forum on CONNECT (aka MacNET). It will also be available for those on Internet who are able to establish a FTP-connection to RASCAL.ICS.UTEXAS.EDU, will be able to retrieve it...just as soon as Werner gets it and posts it on RASCAL. Manager 4.0.1 specifically fixes one problem. If someone has a XP20 (3105 ROM) and reformats it with Manager 4.0. All is okay, but then they want...don't ask...to "down-rev" the XP20 to a DataFrame 20 using either the 3100 or 3103 ROM with Manager 4.0. It won't properly format and the only work-around was to reformat with Manager 3.26 and then format with 4.0. Manager 4.0.1 will allow this "down-rev" operation to properly format. Please note that this does not address the conflict with the OMTI 3100 controller and early Mac Plus ROMs (pre-Loud Harmonica). A fix is in the works and until it is release, continue to use Manager 3.26 with VERY early DataFrame 20's and Biege Mac Plus's.
