Anyone know what the current version of Macsbug is? I've just started using an SE/30, and Macsbug doesn't seem to like it very much as far as the display is concerned anyway - the text displayed on the screen is very large and gray - as though it had been draw into too big a rectangle and the individual pixels were disjoint (if you've seen it you'll know what I mean, and if you haven't I'm not sure exactly how best to describe it). The version I am using is 5.4, which came with LSP 2.0. Thanks. Dear Friend - The latest released version of MacsBug is 6.1, though MacsBug 6.0 should fix the problem that you are having. Jordan Mattson UUCP: jordan@apple.apple.com Apple Computer, Inc. I just finished playing with MacsBug 6.1b1, which was on the Phil & Dave's Excellent CD ROM (it really is excellent, by the way). The two major new features in 6.1 (compared to 6.0) are scrolling and DCMDs. Scrolling lets you use the up and down arrow keys to scroll the window backwards and forwards. The scrolling buffer size is configurable. DCMDS are external commands you can write to extend MacsBug. 6.1b1 comes with a few nice examples to display info about drivers, volumes, open files, etc. MacsBug v6.0 has been available for some time now, and was a major improvement over 5.whatever. If you use MacsBug alot I'd recommend getting the most recent version. The most recent APDALog contains an entry for MacsBug v.6.1 for $35, and it says it will be "available in May 1989." There's a 126 page manual which would probably be useful if you want to write DCMDs. MacsBug is available from APDA. It is also available - sans manual - from the various electronic services (Compuserve, Genie, AppleLink). Due to the rules of the US Copy right office, we cannot make MacsBug available either via Usenet or via anon FTP. Jordan Mattson UUCP: jordan@apple.apple.com Apple Computer, Inc.
