If Red and Blue are reversed, chances are high that the problem is in
the CABLE, not the monitor.  Try using a different cable, or try using
your cable on someone elses computer.

As for repair policies, the best I know of is Record-A-Call.  I bought
a brand-new answering machine that was dead out-of-the-box.  There was
a prominently mentioned toll free number to call.  I called the number,
gave them the details, and they Federal Expressed a new machine to me
by ten am the next day, and the FedEx person took away the old one to
return it to them.  (I didn't even need to box it up again!)

But that is the exception.
