This is from my roommate. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thanks to all the people who responded to my request for information on Fortran compilers on May 9. I had seven response. Five were using Language Systems Fortran Compiler and Two were using Absoft MacFortran/020. Generally most of the users of fortran had used both compilers, and most had strong feels for the one that they were currently using. I was told of the following specifications Lang Sys limits are as followed: 4000 local symbols, 2729 Real constants, 400 global Symbols. Absofts has many drawback it has too many quirks. Lang Sys is good on Vax extensions, but poor on basic fortran. In conclusion, from what people were using the fortran for; the users porting fortran to a mac preferred Language Systems and the users who were coding actively in fortran preferred MacFortran/020. I receive no responses regarding any other fortran compilers Thanks again, Brian Beardmore bbeardmo@polyslo.calpoly.EDU ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\|///////////////////////////////////////// David M.
