[comp.sys.mac] Word3.01/Boomerang incompatibility

jrk@sys.uea.ac.uk (Richard Kennaway) (06/02/89)

There seems to be an incompatibility between Word3.01 and Boomerang.
(Boomerang is an INIT that appeared on comp.binaries.mac recently,
which puts in the standard file dialogs a pop-up menu of the most recently
used folders.) To demonstrate the bug: open a locked Word document, then
do Save, which brings up an SFPutFile dialog, then try to type a file name.
Bomb.

After typing ES to MacsBug to dispose of the wreckage, the problem does
not recur until rebooting. In fact, Boomerang goes away until rebooting.

Not all of Word's file dialogs crash in this way, but in those which dont,
Boomerang doesnt show up properly - part of its pop-up menu button (or
whatever these things are called) is blanked out. Word seems to be doing
something of its own there. As usual...
